Proszę, daj mi znać, Grzegorz, skąd bierzesz te wszystkie wspaniałe piosenki?
Z moich płyt. Ale też mam szereg zarchiwizowanych w postaci mp3. Już nie ma gdzie kłaść płyt. Trochę nawet oddałem innym kolekcjonerom. Są zbierane przeze mnie od lat, choć część była w zasobach rodzinnych, czytaj na strychach i w piwnicach. Długa opowieść. Zacząłem to czyścić, myć, wyciągać z kątów gdy miałem 14 lat.
My name is Donna Clara and I can’t believe I just found out this song existed. I’m 70 years old now. Such a treat. Found it on a track of songs for ice cream trucks of all places.
One immediately senses why Chór Eryana was one of the 'Three Great Ones' in Polish vocal ensemble history. This performance is exquisitely involved, refined and polished. Thank you so much for sharing this precious performance, as well as the lovely prewar Lwów views!
Lwów will always be Poland.
This tango combines memories about my favorite Lviv and wonderful music familiar from childhood for me. Thanks!

I absolutly second your admiration for Reisman's band in its heyday (mid 1920s). He had some sort of vigour and instrumentation unrepeated in any other orchestra of his time. Unfortunately, all this gone with the Great Depression, alas. Regards, Patrick :-)

What a gorgeously sparkling and lively 1920s tune! A remarkable fact is that "Robert Benjamin" actually is a pseudonym for Selvin singing the refrain himself... This bandleader, who allegedly recorded almost 20,000 different songs on shellac, appears to be even more productive than I thought, since he also was the vocalist here :-)

Pour moi aussi, la gramophone valise était un objet magique. Enfant, je n'arrivais pas à croire qu'avec une aiguille en acier et une trompette en fer-blanc roulées dans une boîte avec un couvercle, on pouvait produire des chansons, de la musique et même que quelqu'un à l'intérieur parlait.
